How do I get a price?

Send photos with the photo quote form, by email to hello@railandlanding.ca, or by text to 437-981-2080. We reply with a written price. We aim to reply within one business day. If we cannot tell from the photos, we offer a short video call or a home visit to measure.

Do you charge for a home visit?

Visits for railings and ramps are free, and so are visits for clients a clinic or care agency refers. For other work a visit costs $99, and we credit it in full to any job you book within 60 days. The visit is to measure and quote. It is not a medical or occupational therapy visit.

How soon can you install?

Your written quote gives the install date or window. We book the day with you after you accept.

Do I pay a deposit?

Not on jobs under $1,000. On jobs of $1,000 or more, the deposit is 25% when you accept, and the balance is due when the work is done.

Can I cancel?

Yes. If you sign in your home, you can cancel for any reason within 10 days after you receive your copy of the agreement. Your written quote and agreement set out all of your cancellation rights. See our terms.

What if my walls or concrete are not what the photos showed?

The installer tells you the new price before starting. Work goes ahead only if you agree in writing. If you say no, you owe nothing for that visit.

What warranty do you give?

Warranty terms are set out in each written quote.

I am arranging this for a parent. Can I fill in the form?

Yes. Choose "My parent or another family member" on the form. We speak with the person who lives in the home and welcome you at every visit. For jobs over $2,000 we offer to send the written quote to a person they name. If a family member pays and the parent owns the home, both sign: the owner agrees to the work and the payer agrees to the payment terms.

Do you give therapy or medical advice?

No. We measure and quote. If you would like advice about your own needs, you can book a private occupational therapist directly. We install to the therapist's written recommendation.

Do you sell stairlifts?

Not yet. We can give you the names of stairlift dealers who serve your area, and we can add handrails to your stairs. See stairlifts.

Do you do plumbing, walk-in tubs or shower conversions?

No. We do not do plumbing of any kind. We install grab bars, seats and rails on your existing tub or shower.

Do you work in condos and rented homes?

Yes, inside a condo unit or a rented home, with the condo corporation's or the owner's permission where it is needed. Work in condo common areas is quoted on our commercial page.

Can you help with tax credits or funding?

We describe the programs on our funding help page and give you an itemized invoice. Each program decides who is eligible. We do not decide eligibility.

Who comes to my home?

Our installers wear a photo ID badge with our company name. You can call our office at 437-981-2080 to check who is coming. They use drop sheets and shoe covers, explain before drilling, and keep stairs and paths clear.

Which cities do you serve?

We work in Markham, Richmond Hill and Burlington. We add a city when we can work there.
